Fall isn’t just the time to go back to school, as it’s also, somewhat ironically, the biggest season in the year for gaming, with dozens of releases just before the holiday season rolls in, on top of many retailers and publishers offering sales on cheap games that people might have missed. For those who prefer sales, Humble Bundle is closing the summer season with a massive sale for those hunting for cheap games, which they’re kicking off with a free game.
The title available for free is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, available until the 1st of September. Set in the grim, dark science-fantasy universe of Warhammer 40K, Space Marine sets itself apart from the rest of the games in the franchise by being an action-adventure romp, with its main protagonist voiced by Mark Strong of Kingsman fame. The game has players taking the reins of an Ultramarine, one of the super soldiers serving the Warhammer 40K universe’s Imperium of Man, who battles the enemies of mankind in distant planets. The game was overlooked when it first came out, but received positive reception from critics and had a cult following.
Following that, the Humble Bundle store will be holding its massive sale for those looking for cheap games, ending on September 13, 10AM PST. For those hunting for an engrossing, multi-hundred hour role playing game to waste their time on, multi-award winning titan The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition will be available for 60% off. This version of the game comes with the vanilla game, plus its two expansions, Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone, which has been estimated by many to be around 200 hours of gameplay.
For those looking for something more retro in style, indie gem Cuphead will be available for 20%. Released in 2017, the game is a genre throwback to the challenging platforms of the older times, not unlike the early Mega Man titles, famed for its art style which resembled early Walt Disney cartoons, like Steamboat Willy, and its punishing difficulty.
Thousands of games will going on sale as part of the deal, which include more recent releases like Far Cry 5, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, and Hollow Knight, among others, for those looking to get old favorites or get any titles they might’ve missed.
